![]() Jesus did NOT set us free from the law. This is contrary to the Word of God. Here is what the Word of God says concerning the law. Jesus said: Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. HERE IS A WARNING THAT WE SHOULD BE CAREFUL WHAT WE TEACH: Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness (faith in God's Grace) shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees (keeping the letter of the law), ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 5:17-20) Jesus died for our sins at Calvary. He fulfilled the law and became the author and finisher of the New Testament and the law of sin and death was TRANSFORMED into the law of grace and love: Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 2:2) THE LAW IS NOW WRITTEN IN OUR HEARTS: Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart. (2 Corinthians 3:3) For the priesthood being changed, there is made of necessity a CHANGE also of the law. (Hebrews 7:12) By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. (Romans 5:2) NOW, FAITH IN GOD'S GRACE AND NOT THE WORKS OF THE LAW: For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. (Ephesians 2:8,9) Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace. FOR WE, THROUGH THE SPIRIT, WAIT FOR THE HOPE OF RIGHTOUSNESS: For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love. (Gallations 5:4-6) RECEIVING THE GIFT OF GRACE, BY FAITH, UNDER A NEVER ENDING PRIESTHOOD: But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (Hebrews 11:6) Faith in God's grace and not our own works: Rom 3:3 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? Rom 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law. Rom 13:10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law. Rom 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. (1 John 5:2,3) This is the reason that Jesus and theApostles quoted freely from the Old Testament and you find the Old Testament scriptures intermingled in the New Testament scriptures. Love is the fulfillment of the law. If you love God, you not only will not murder your enemy, you will bless them and pray for them. If you love God, you not only will not steal from your neighbor, you will watch over his possessions like you do your own. If you love God, you not only will not rob Him but 10% would be a goal in paying tithes to Him. After all, He gave it all to you and left you with 90% or so for yourself. You give by faith, knowing that His promises are true and He will multiply it back to you.
