Fasting


	Matthew 17:16 And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him. Our scripture verse for this study is: Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. (Matthew 7:21) Matthew 17:17 Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me. Matthew 17:18 And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour. Matthew 17:19 Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? Matthew 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Matthew 17:21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. We live in a time, especially here in the USA, that because of our sin in the Body of Christ, because of our national sin, the Holy Spirit of God has lifted in great measure from our nation. He has been replaced by principalities, powers and rulers of darkness of this world. Demonic activity is on the increase. The occult is being taught in the public school system and permeates TV. Any computer hooked up to the internet can have instant access to witchcraft, pornography and all forms of wickedness. If there ever was a time for fasting in the Body of Christ, this is the time. Jesus said: Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. (Matthew 6:16). Notice Jesus said, "......WHEN YE FAST..." not IF ye fast. I would call that a command, not an option. There are different kinds of fasts and before you do, you should pray and seek God and do some research. You can go to "Google" search engine, type in "fasting" and behold, a wealth of information awaits you in your search. There are 3 day fasts, 5 day fasts, 10 day fasts, 21 day fasts, 40 day fasts, etc. You can fast a meal, sunup to sundown, only water, only water and juice, etc. What really matters is bringing your body under subjection to the Holy Spirit and crusifying the flesh. I can promise you, from my own experience and the testimonies of other brothers and sisters, you will never see the miracles, you will never see the breakthroughs until you obediently combine fasting with prayer and Bible study. Do you need a breakthrough? Do you have unsaved family members, relatives or friends? Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? Do some fasting along with prayer and Bible study. The Bible says, draw near to God AND He will draw near to you. That is a PROMISE. All the promises of God are YEA and AMEN!
